How did you get into radio? I started off as a furry mascot.... then work experience... a post graduate diploma, and hung around until someone gave me a job.

What does the role of a news reader involve? Um, reading the news. But I'm a reporter too so I also write stories, interview people and make a nuisance of myself.

Why is news so important? Because without knowing what's going on in the world around you, you don't know much!

What's the best thing about working for smooth radio? Free Food Friday.

Tell us one thing your listeners would not know about you? I've got double jointed shoulders.

What do you do when you're not reading the news? Write the stories! Do interviews, edit them, and prepare the bulletin if I'm due to read it.

What do you do when you're not at work? If I've been on breakfast - then sleep. When I'm doing normal hours I go to gigs, the cinema and the pub - and go on very long ‘healthy walks' with my friend Sarah... (to the pub)

If you weren't a news reader, what do you think you would be doing? I don't know. Something terribly lucrative probably.

If a film was made of your life which actor should play you? Jack Black.

Outside of radio have you ever won an award for anything? Yes, I got a trophy for scones at a village show once.

What's your favourite decade and why? It's a toss up between the 70s - as without them we wouldn't have punk, and the 90s - I was young and got to go to loads of classic gigs!

What was the first record you ever bought? Right Said Fred's album, it's a classic!

What's the worst single you ever bought? Vengaboys - the Venga Bus. Actually that has a certain charm - there's probably a worse one in my collection.
